2019 Garage Sale

Time to do some serious spring cleaning! There will be one community garage sale this year.

Save the date! The garage sale will be on Saturday, June 22. More reminders will follow - but we wanted everyone to be aware as early as possible for planning (and cleaning!) purposes.

We will hold our annual garage sale from 9:00am to 1:00 pm. We will post the sale online at Craigslist.com, GarageSale.com, Mlive.com, AnnArbor.com leading up to and on the day of the event as well as have signage near main roads.

2019 Summer Party!

One of the biggest, and most popular, social events on the Arbor Creek calendar is our annual Summer Party. This year's event will be held on Sunday, August 25, 2019 from 4-7:30PM. If you've been to the party before, you know that there are a lot of fun activities for families, adults and kids alike! This year's event is a potluck so please bring a dish to pass. The association will provide sub sandwiches, pizza, cookies and drinks (beers for adults) for all who attend. There will also be bounce houses, D. J. music and face painting. We really want to keep this annual tradition alive, but we cannot do it without your help. Please signup to volunteer at the party. Emails will be sent out in the weeks leading up to the party so be on the lookout!

When: Sunday, TBD, 2019
Time: 4pm to 7:30pm
Where: Common Area on Mystic (between Cook Creek and Boulder Ridge Blvd)

Halloween Parade!

1. ACHA annual Halloween Parade at 6:30pm on the 31st of October. Fire Marshall will have a fire truck on Cook Creek at our mailbox location 2922 Cook Creek to lead our Parade. The children and parents dress up in their Halloween costumes and stand behind the fire truck. The fire truck then turns on flashing lights / siren to start the Parade. The fire truck drives slowly down Cook Creek and around Mystic with the attends marching behind. The Parade ends when they reach Cook Creek. The children then start going door to door for Trick-or-Treating.

2. Candy checks by Pittsfield Twp Police and Fire Departments. These checks will be from 6:30-9pm so parents will be able to come with candy collected by their children. When the fire truck departs our ACHA Parade they drive over to the Washtenaw Ave. McDonalds for candy checking.

When: October 31
Time: 6:30 PM
Where: 2922 Cook Creek

By-Laws Amendment Recorded:

An amendment to the By-Laws of Arbor Creek was approved by the Board of Directors and recorded in the County Office of the Register of Records. The amendment concerns the installation of basketball hoops and backboards on driveways. Here is the text of the amendment:

“Basketball Hoops and Backboards. Basketball hoops and
backboards shall be prohibited from being affixed directly to
dwellings or other structures erected on Units. In-ground
(permanent) basketball hoops and backboards may be installed
immediately adjacent to driveways leading to garages in dwellings
constructed on Units, provided that the pole supporting such
backboard and hoop is located not further than six (6) feet from
the edge of the driveway pavement and provided that the backboard
faces the driveway on the Unit. This restriction is not intended
to prevent or disallow the use of temporary (movable) basketball
hoops and backboards.”

You can read and download the complete amendment as it was registered here on the website on the Documents section.

By-Law Reminders for Being a Good Neighbor:

To enhance the experience of being a good neighbor Arbor Creek has a series of By-Laws that each homeowner accepted upon purchasing the house. Here are some timely reminders:

  • When walking the dog, every owner must clean up their dog droppings, immediately. Dog droppings are a major contributor to the pollution of our woodland preserve and of the surface and ground waters. Once you clean up, please properly dispose of the droppings. Failing to do any of this can result in heavy fines from the authorities of Pittsfield Township.
  • The garbage and recycle carts should be stored inside your house. Keeping them on the driveway, or on the side or back of your house is not allowed.
  • The landscaping around your house, including the grass, trees and plants, should be properly maintained free of weeds, dead specimens, and debris.
  • The trees and the grass in front of your house in the space between the street and the sidewalk are your responsibility to take care of. If these trees or the grass are dead, you are responsible for replacing them at your cost and as soon as possible.
  • The front porch of your house is not to be used to permanently store boxes, toys, unused furniture or any other type of household item.
  • The placement of signs of any type in the front of your house is not allowed by the By-Laws of Arbor Creek and by the Ordinances of Pittsfield Township. The only exception is one sign when a house is for sale or for rent.
  • Trailers, motor homes, commercial vehicles, boat trailers, boats, camping vehicles, camping trailers, motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles, snowmobiles, snowmobile trailers, or vehicles other than automobiles should not be permanently parked on your driveway or yard. They need to be kept inside the garage.

If you have any questions or comments about these By-Law reminders, please contact the Association using the Contact Form of this website. Thank you for being a good neighbor!
